For Girl Scouts

 Our workshop are scheduled in two-hour blocks and include:

• A brief history of comics (for the Girl Scout workshops we focus on  the impact of women in comics)  
• Comic terms and general definitions and how to apply them to your comic work
• How to write a comic (creating your characters, plotting out your story's major and minor problems, and finding a solution that makes for a great ending) 
• A quick guide to editing your story and how to format it into a comic book style (including scripting, paneling, and lettering) 

Participants receive a book that walks them through the process and allows them the space to draw and write out their story as we work. 

We also create a story as a group on our dry erase board to guide the process along the way, learning not just the skills to be creative but how to collaborate on projects as well! 

Weekday workshops are $10 per Girl Scout troop member. 

Weekend workshops are $15 per Girl Scout troop member.

Travel fees may apply to off-site workshops. 

Every Girl Scout who attends a workshop will receive:

- Comic Creation workbook 

- Two Free comic books 

- A Bat City Comic Professionals sticker
